Probable Type of Eleocharis arenicola Torrey

Determination RemarksThe protologue states: "Galveston Island, May, creeping in loose sand". Lindhiemer 205 from Texas is most probably the type collection (as stated by H. K. Svenson, Rhodora 34: 220. 1932). This specimen (GH 27731) should probably be selected as the lectotype based on Torrey's [no! it's Gray's] handwritten "E. arenicola Torr. n.sp. [not n.sp., it is "mss."]on the label and his description in the pocket, which closely matches the description in the protologue.
