Remarks [collector note: Bengal (col. 1821-22): CGE, G-DEL, K?] "Ixora barbata was sent from the botanic garden at Calcutta, under that name, by Mr. John Potts, a very meritorious collector, in the service of the Society; but who unfortunately fell a victim to consumption, on his return from his mission to the East Indies and China, in 1823" (vide Bot. Mag. 51: t. 2505. 1824). Index Herb. cited the death date as "1822".
