| Remarks | A dwarf gregarious under shrub, growing on the barer screes & slopes in full exposure, where the snow first melts. Flowers just opening, violet with orange anthers in small heads of three or four. Corolla elpidote outside, style glabrous; ovary closely lepidote; staments 10 with tuft or hair at the base. N. B. flowers are usually lavender, faintly fragrant. Style may be pubescent at base |
