| Remarks | A fair sized tree with stout bole; often pollarded, and in this open secondary forest the trunk from the base upwards covered with shoots. Young leaves with ciliate margin, glabrous when mature. Inflorescence glabrous except the filaments, pubescent at the base. Truss 3-flowered; axillary; the leaves aggregated at the ends of the shoots, so that a false truss of 6-12 flowers is formed. Corolla white with a yellow patch on the upper lobe inside; fragrant; stamens 8 only. Common in the foothills where the tea is grown |
