| Habitat | Rich woods and steep ravines with calcareous seepage swamps in bottoms due to marl deposits. Forest of Fagus grandifolia, Acer rubrum, Quercus michauxii, Carya sp., and scattered Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Seepages with Nysa sylvatica and scattered Taxodium w/ shrubs of Cornus sp., Lindera benzoin and Magnolia virginica. Saururus crenuus, Calth palustris and Lorinseria areolata common in herb layer. Growing on decaying wood laying in shallow, slow moving water in swamp with sandy bottom. |
