| Remarks | Tall graceful species attaining 15 m.; specimens from a tree growing in a forest opening, the only example observed in flower; trunk 30 feet high with diameter of 8.5 cm. just below leaves; leaves 7, spreading and drooping about 2 m. long; leaf sheaths thick, about 35 cm. long; pinna concave, 46-50 on each side of rachis; panicles 6, lowermost bearing half ripe fruit, upper one still enveloped in spathe; scattered, the only palm aprt from a small Calamus occurring at this altitude. |
