Remarks

Labeled "See letter of O. A. Farwell / March 16, 1927." This date is the date of the letter, which is in the archives, from Farwell (of Parke, Davis & Co.) to B. L. Robinson, presenting the specimen to GH. Probably collected in Chili by a commercial collector for this pharmaceutical firm. In the packet is an envelope containing female strobilus & labeled "Fruit Ephedra sinica Stapf inedit." Actual authorship of this name may be "Stapf in Farwell" (see McVaugh et al., 1953, Farwelliana), and publication in J. Am. Pharm. Assn. 16(2):136. 1927.
